2 Corinthians 5:1-10 - Absent From The Body And At Home With The Lord

1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. 2 For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon, with our house which is from heaven: 3 If being clothed, we shall not be found naked. 4 For we who are in this tabernacle groan, being burdened; not that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. 5 Now he that hath wrought us to this very thing is God, who hath also given us the earnest of the Spirit.

6 Therefore we always behave undauntedly; knowing that while we are sojourning in the body, we are absent from the Lord: 7 (For we walk by faith, not by sight.) 8 We behave undauntedly, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord. 9 Therefore we are ambitious, whether present, or absent, to be well-pleasing to him. 10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive according to what he hath done in the body, whether good or evil.
