2 Corinthians 5:1-10 - Absent From The Body And At Home With The Lord

¹ For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle be dissolved, we have a building from God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. ² For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon, with our house which is from heaven: ³ If being clothed, we shall not be found naked. ⁴ For we who are in this tabernacle groan, being burdened; not that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. ⁵ Now he that hath wrought us to this very thing is God, who hath also given us the earnest of the Spirit.

⁶ Therefore we always behave undauntedly; knowing that while we are sojourning in the body, we are absent from the Lord: ⁷ (For we walk by faith, not by sight.) ⁸ We behave undauntedly, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and present with the Lord. ⁹ Therefore we are ambitious, whether present, or absent, to be well-pleasing to him. ¹⁰ For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that every one may receive according to what he hath done in the body, whether good or evil.
