Matthew 10:26-33 - Fear God Rather Than People

²⁶ "So do not fear them. For there is nothing covered that will not be revealed, or hidden that will not be known. ²⁷ What I tell you in the dark, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim on the housetops. ²⁸ And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell. ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father's will. ³⁰ But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. ³¹ Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

³² "Therefore whoever acknowledges me before men, him I will also acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven. ³³ But whoever denies me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.

⁴ "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. ⁵ But I will show you whom you should fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has power to cast into hell; yes, I tell you, fear him! ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. ⁷ Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
