John 8:12-20 - Jesus, The Light Of The World

12 Then Jesus spoke to them again and said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not have to walk in darkness but will have the light of life."

13 The Pharisees said to him, "You are testifying to yourself. Your testimony is not true."

14 Jesus answered, "Even if I am testifying to myself, my testimony is true, for I know where I have come from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going. 15 You judge by material standards, but I am judging nobody. 16 But even if I do judge, my decision is just, because I am not by myself, but the Father who sent me is with me. 17 Why, in your own Law it is stated that the testimony of two persons is valid. 18 Here I am testifying to myself, and the Father who has sent me testifies to me."

19 Then they said to him, "Where is your Father?" Jesus answered, "You do not know either me or my Father. If you knew me, you would know my Father too." 20 He said these things in the treasury, as he was teaching in the Temple, and no one arrested him, because he was not yet ready.
