Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession
Once when he was praying by himself, with only the disciples near him, he asked them, "Who do the people say that I am?"
They answered, "John the Baptist, though others say Elijah, and others that one of the old prophets has come back to life."
And he said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered, "The Christ of God!"
In consequence of this many of his disciples drew back and would not go about with him any longer. 67 So Jesus said to the Twelve, "Do you mean to go away too?"
Simon Peter answered, "To whom can we go, sir? You have a message of eternal life, 69 and we believe and are satisfied that you are the Holy One of God."
Jesus answered them, "Did I not myself select all twelve of you? And even of you, one is an informer." 71 He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot, for he, though he was one of the Twelve, was going to betray him.
