Luke 19:1-10 - Jesus And Zacchaeus
1 And, having entered, He was passing through Jericho; 2 and, behold, a man, called by name Zacchaeus, and he was a chief tax-collector; and he was rich. 3 And he was seeking to see Jesus, Who He was; and was not able on account of the multitude; because he was small in stature. 4 And, running before, he climbed up into a sycamore tree, that he might see Him; because He was about to pass along that way. 5 And, when He came to the place, Jesus, looking up, said to him, "Zacchaeus, hastening, come down; for to-day I must abide in your house."
6 And, hastening, he came down, and received Him joyfully. 7 And, seeing it, they were all murmuring, saying, "He went in to be guest with a sinful man!"
8 And, standing, Zacchaeus said to the Lord, "Behold, the half of my goods, Lord, I give to the poor; and, if I wrongfully exacted anything from any one, I restore four-fold."
9 And Jesus said to him, "To-day salvation came to this house, inasmuch as he also is a son of Abraham; 10 for the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which is lost."
