Matthew 27:27-31 - Jesus Is Mocked

Matthew 27:27-31

27 Then the soldiers of the governor, taking Jesus into the Praetorium, gathered to Him the whole band. 28 And, having stripped Him, they put on Him a scarlet robe; 29 and, having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on His head, and a reed in His right hand; and, kneeling before Him, they mocked Him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!" 30 And, having spit on Him, they took the reed, and smote Him on the head; 31 and, when they mocked Him, they took off the robe from Him, and put on His own garments, and led Him away to crucify Him.

Mark 15:16-20

16 And the soldiers led Him away within the court, which is the Praetorium; and they call together the whole band. 17 And they clothe Him with purple; and, having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on Him. 18 And they began to salute Him, "Hail King of the Jews!" 19 And they were smiting His head with a reed, and kept spitting on Him; and, bowing their knees, they were worshiping Him! 20 And, when they mocked Him, they took from Him the purple, and put on Him His own garments. And they lead Him out to crucify Him.

Romans 15:16-20

16 that I should be a minister of Jesus Christ to the gentiles, ministering the Gospel of God, that the offering up of the gentiles may become acceptable, being sanctified by the Holy Spirit. 17 I have, therefore, my glorying in Christ Jesus as to the things pertaining to God. 18 For I will venture to speak only of the things which God wrought through me for the obedience of the gentiles, by word and deed, 19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Holy Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and around as far as Illyricum, I have fully dispensed the Gospel of Christ; 20 and, making it my aim so to proclaim the Gospel??ot where Christ was already named??hat I might not build upon another's foundation;
