John 17:6-19 - Jesus Prays For His Disciples

⁶ I manifested thy name to the men whom thou gave me out of the world. They were thine, and thou gave them to me, and they have kept thy word. ⁷ Now they know that all things, as many as thou gave me are from thee. ⁸ Because the sayings that thou gave to me, I gave to them. And they received them, and knew truly that I came forth from thee, and they believed that thou sent me. ⁹ I pray about them. I do not pray about the world, but about whom thou have given me, because they are for thee. ¹⁰ And all my things are thy things, and thy things are my things, and I am glorified in them. ¹¹ And I am no more in the world, and these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep them in thy name that thou have given to me, so that they may be one, just as we. ¹² While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name. Whom thou gave to me, I kept, and none of them was destroyed, except the son of destruction, so that the scripture might be fulfilled. ¹³ And now I come to thee. And I speak these things in the world, so that they may have my joy fulfilled in them. ¹⁴ I have given them thy word, and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. ¹⁵ I pray not that thou should take them out of the world, but that thou should keep them from the evil. ¹⁶ They are not of the world just as I am not of the world. ¹⁷ Sanctify them in thy truth. Thy word is truth. ¹⁸ Just as thou sent me into the world, so also I sent them into the world. ¹⁹ And for their sakes I sanctify myself, so that they may also themselves be sanctified in truth.
