John 12:27-36 - Jesus Predicts His Death

John 12:27-36

27 And My soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour? But for this cause I came to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Your name! Then there came a voice from the heaven saying, I have both glorified it and will glorify it again.

29 Then the crowd who stood by and heard said that it thundered. Others said, An angel spoke to Him.

30 Jesus answered and said, This voice did not come because of Me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world. Now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all to Myself. 33 But He said this, signifying what kind of death He was about to die.

34 The crowd answered Him, We have heard out of the Law that Christ lives forever. How do you say, The Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is this Son of Man?

35 Then Jesus said to them, Yet a little while the Light is with you. Walk while you have the Light, lest darkness come upon you. For he who walks in darkness does not know where he goes. 36 While you have the Light, believe in the Light so that you may become sons of Light. Jesus spoke these things and departed and was hidden from them.

John 8:21-30

21 Then Jesus said again to them, I go away, and you shall seek Me and shall die in your sins. Where I go, you cannot come.

22 Then the Jews said, Will he kill himself? Because he says, Where I go you cannot come.

23 And He said to them, You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 Therefore I said to you that you shall die in your sins, for if you do not believe that I AM, you shall die in your sins.

25 Then they said to Him, Who are you? And Jesus said to them, Even the same which I also say to you. 26 I have many things to say and to judge of you, but He who sent Me is true, and I speak to the world those things what I heard of Him.

27 They did not understand that He spoke to them of the Father. 28 Then Jesus said to them, When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you shall know that I AM, and that I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things. 29 And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things which please Him.

30 As He spoke these words, many believed upon Him.
