Matthew 12:46-50 - Jesus' Mother And Brothers

⁴⁶ While he was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers were standing outside, desiring to speak to him. ⁴⁷ So some one told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, and wanting to speak to you."

⁴⁸ But he answered the man who told him, "Who is my mother and who are my brothers?" ⁴⁹ And stretching his hand toward his disciples, he said, ⁵⁰ "Behold my mother and my brothers! For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven, is my brother and sister and mother."

³¹ Then his mother and his brothers came up, and standing outside, they sent a messenger to him to call him. ³² Now a crowd was sitting round him and they told him, "See! your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside, wanting to see you."

³³ "Who are my mother and my brothers?" he replied. ³⁴ Then, with a glance at those who were in the circle sitting around him, he added. ³⁵ "Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does the will of God, that one is my brother and sister and mother."

¹⁹ There came to him his mother and his brothers, and they could not reach him because of the crowd. ²⁰ But some one told him, "Your mother and brothers are standing outside, desiring to see you."

²¹ "My mother and brothers," he answered, "are those who listen to the word of God and obey it."
