John 16:25-33 - Jesus' Victory Over The World

²⁵ These things have I spoken to you in parables: but the time is coming when I shall no more speak to you in parables, but tell you with plainness concerning the Father. ²⁶ In that day ye shall ask in my name; and I do not say that I will ask the Father on your behalf. ²⁷ For the Father himself loveth you; because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came from God: and I indeed came from the Father, ²⁸ and am come into the world: but now I am leaving the world again, and am going to the Father.

²⁹ His disciples said unto Him, Now indeed Thou speakest plainly, and usest no parable. ³⁰ Now we are convinced that Thou knowest all things, and hast no need that any one should ask Thee: by this we believe that Thou camest forth from God.

³¹ Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? ³² Behold, the time is coming, and is even now come, that ye shall be dispersed every one his own way, and shall leave me alone: but I am not alone, for the Father is with me. ³³ These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have trouble: but be of good courage, I have overcome the world.
