Matthew 16:13-20 - Peter's Confession At Caesarea Philippi

Matthew 16:13-20

13 And, Jesus coming into the parts of Caesarea of Philip, began questioning his disciples, saying - Who are men saying that, the Son of Man, is?

14 And, they, said - Some, indeed, John the Immerser, and, others, Elijah, - but, others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.

15 He saith unto them - But who say, ye, that I am?

16 And, Simon Peter, answering, said - Thou, art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.

17 And Jesus, answering, said to him - Happy, art thou, Simon Bar-yona, - because, flesh and blood, revealed it not unto thee, but my Father who is in the heavens. 18 And, I also, unto thee, say - Thou, art Peter, - and, upon this rock, will I build my assembly, and, the gates of hades, shall not prevail against it. 19 I will give thee, the keys of the kingdom of the heavens, - and, whatsoever thou shalt bind upon the earth, shall be bound in the heavens, and, whatsoever thou shalt loose upon the earth, shall be loosed in the heavens.

20 Then, straitly charged he the disciples, lest, to any man, they should say - He, is, the Christ.

Mark 8:27-30

27 And forth went Jesus and his disciples, into the villages of Caesarea of Philip. And, in the way, he was questioning his disciples, saying unto them - Who, are men saying that I am?

28 And they answered him, saying - John the Immerser, and, others, Elijah, - and, others, One of the prophets.

29 And, he, went on to question them - But, who, say, ye, that I am? Peter, answering, saith unto him - Thou, art, the Christ.

30 And he straitly charged them, that, no one, they should tell concerning him.
