Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ Now it happened that as he was praying alone his disciples were with him; and he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?"

¹⁹ So they answered, "John the Baptist; but others say Elijah; and others say that one of the old prophets has risen again."

²⁰ And he said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" And Peter answered, "The Christ of God."

⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went back and no longer walked with him. ⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?"

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we believe, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is a devil?" ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, for it was he who was to betray him, though one of the twelve.
