Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ It came to pass, while He was praying alone, His disciples came to Him. And He asked them, saying, Whom do the multitudes say that I am?

¹⁹ They responding said, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets is risen.

²⁰ And He said to them, But whom do you say that I am? And Peter responding said, The Christ of God.

⁶⁶ Moreover from this many of His disciples went back, and walked with Him no more. ⁶⁷ Then Jesus said to the twelve, Do you also wish to go away?

⁶⁸ Simon Peter responded to Him, Lord, to whom shall we go away? thou hast the words of eternal life; ⁶⁹ we have believed and we know that thou art the Holy One of God.

⁷⁰ Jesus responded to them, Have I not chosen you twelve, and one of you is devilish? ⁷¹ But He spoke of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon, for he was going to betray Him, being one of the twelve.
