Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ And it came to pass as he was in a private place praying, that his disciples were with him; and he asked them, saying, Who do the multitudes say that I am?

¹⁹ And they answering said, John the Baptist; and others, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets hath risen.

²⁰ And he said to them, But who do ye say that I am? And Peter answering said, The Christ of God.

⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. ⁶⁷ Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Do ye also wish to go away?

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou hast words of everlasting life; ⁶⁹ and we have believed and known, that thou art the Holy One of God.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Did not I choose you twelve? and one of you is a devil! ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot; for it was he that was about to betray him, being one of the twelve.
