Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ After he prayed the disciples went to him. He asked them: Who do the crowds say that I am?

¹⁹ They said: John the Baptist. Others say Elijah and still others say one of the old prophets has risen again.

²⁰ But who do you say I am? He asked. Peter answered him: The Christ of God.

⁶⁶ After this many of his disciples returned to their old ways. They did not walk with him anymore. ⁶⁷ Jesus asked the twelve: Will you also go away?

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him: Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of everlasting life! ⁶⁹ We believe and know that you are the Holy One of God.

⁷⁰ Jesus replied: Did I not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil (false accuser) (slanderer) (demon). ⁷¹ He spoke of Judas the son of Simon Iscariot one of the twelve, for he would betray him.
