Proverbs 1:1-7 - Prologue
1 The proverbs 0f Solomon son of David, king of Israel: 2 To know wisdom and instruction. To discern and understand words. 3 To receive instruction with wisdom, justice, judgment and integrity. 4 To give wisdom and refinement to the simple. To the young man knowledge and discretion. 5 A wise man will hear and will increase learning. A man of understanding will procure wise counsel. 6 This will help him understand a proverb and the interpretation as well as the words of the wise and their riddles.
7 Respect for Jehovah (YHWH) is the beginning of knowledge (truth) (understanding) (wisdom). Fools despise wisdom and instruction.
1 The words of the Preacher (assembler) (lecturer), the son of David, king in Jerusalem.
1 We have heard that which was from the beginning. We have also seen it with our own eyes. We looked at it and touched it with our hands. It is the Word of life. 2 The life was made known and we have seen and testify about it. We declare the life to you. It is the eternal life, which was with the Father and was shown to us. 3 We declare to you what we have seen and heard. This way you may have fellowship with us. Yes, and our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ! 4 We write these things that our joy may be made full (complete).
1 THE REVELATION GOD GAVE TO JESUS CHRIST, so that he could tell his servants the things that must soon take place. Christ then sent his angel to communicate the symbolic message to his servant John. 2 John testified to the word of God, the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all that he saw. 3 Happy is he who reads, and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and obey the things written in it: for the time is near.
