Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

Matthew 4:12-17

12 But when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he retreated to Galilee. 13 And he left Nazareth and went and settled in Capernaum, by the sea, in the district of Zebulon and Naphtali, 14 in fulfilment of what was said by the prophet Isaiah,

15 "Zebulon's land, and Naphtali's land, Along the road to the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the nations! 16 The people that were living in darkness Have seen a great light, And on those who were living in the land of the shadow of death A light has dawned!"

17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, "Repent! for the Kingdom of Heaven is coming!"

Mark 1:14-15

14 After John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee proclaiming the good news from God, 15 saying, "The time has come and the reign of God is near; repent, and believe this good news."

Luke 4:14-15

14 Under the power of the Spirit Jesus returned to Galilee, and news of him went all over that region. 15 And he taught in their synagogues, and was honored by them all.
