Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

Matthew 4:12-17

12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew into Galilee. 13 He left Nazareth, and settled in Capernaum-by-the-Lake, near the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali, 14 in order that these words spoken through Isaiah the prophet, might be fulfilled:

15 Land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali; The road by the Lake; the country beyond Jordan; Galilee of the Gentiles! 16 The people who were dwelling in darkness Have seen a great light; And on those who were dwelling in the land of the shadows of death Light has dawned.

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent for the kingdom of heaven is near."

Mark 1:14-15

14 After John had been thrown into prison Jesus came into Galilee preaching the gospel of God. 15 "The time is now come," he said, "and the kingdom of God is near! Repent and believe the gospel."

Luke 4:14-15

14 Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and his fame spread throughout all the surrounding country, 15 and he began to teach in their synagogues, and was glorified by all.
