John 10:31-39 - Renewed Efforts To Stone Jesus

The Jews picked up stones again to stone him.

Jesus replied to them: I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of those works do you stone me?

The Jews answered him: We do not stone you for good work but for blasphemy. You are a man and you make yourself like God. (John 1:1)

Jesus said: Is it not written in your law, I said, you are 'god-like ones'? 35 So if he called them 'god-like ones,' those to whom the word of God came, and the Scriptures may not be annulled, 36 do you say to the one whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, you blaspheme? And this because I said, I am the Son of God. (Psalm 82:1, 6) (John 1:34; 5:18) (Luke 1:35) 37 If I am not doing the works of my Father, do not believe me. 38 But if I do them and you do not believe me, believe the works! That way you may know and understand that the Father is with me, and I am with the Father. 39 They tried again to capture him but he escaped from them.
