1 Peter 4:12-19 - Sharing The Sufferings Of Christ

¹² Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial among you, coming upon you unto your testing: as some strange thing happening to you: ¹³ but as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, rejoice; in order that you may also rejoice in the revelation of his glory, being glad. ¹⁴ If you suffer reproach in the name of Christ, happy are you, because the spirit of the glory and the spirit of God rest on you. ¹⁵ But let no one of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil-doer, or as a meddler in other people's business: ¹⁶ but if as a Christian, be not ashamed, but glorify God in this name. ¹⁷ Because it is time that judgment should begin from the house of God: and if it is first from us, what shall be the end of those who obey not the gospel of God?

¹⁸ And if the righteous is scarcely saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

¹⁹ So let those indeed suffering according to the will of God submit their souls to the faithful Creator, in good work.
