John 4:27-38 - The Disciples And The Harvest
And upon this his disciples came. And they marveled that he spoke with the woman, yet no man said, What seek thou? or, Why do thou speak with her?
The woman therefore left her water pot, and departed into the city, and says to the men, 29 Come, see a man who told me all, as many things as I did. Is not this the Christ? 30 They went out of the city, and came to him.
In the meanwhile the disciples asked him, saying, Rabbi, eat.
But he said to them, I have food to eat that ye know not.
The disciples therefore said to each other, Did any man bring him to eat?
Jesus says to them, My food is that I do the will of him who sent me, and may finish his work. 35 Do ye not say, There are still four months and the harvest comes? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and see the fields, that they are already white for harvest. 36 And he who reaps receives a wage and gathers fruit for eternal life, so that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together. 37 For in this the saying is true, One is who sows, and another who reaps. 38 I sent you to reap what ye have not labored. Others have labored, and ye have entered into their labor.
