Mark 16:9-20 - The Longer Ending Of Mark

Mark 16:9-20

9 Now after He had risen, early on the first day of the week, He appeared first to Mary of Magdala, out of whom He had driven seven demons. 10 She went out and told it to His disciples, while they were mourning and weeping. 11 But although they had heard that He was alive and had been seen by her, they would not believe it. 12 After this He showed Himself in a different form to two of them as they were walking along, on their way into the country. 13 Then they went back and told the rest, but they would not believe them either.

14 Later on He appeared to the Eleven themselves while they were at table, and reproved them for their lack of faith and their stubbornness, because they had not believed those who had seen Him after He had been raised from the dead. 15 Then He said to them, "You must go all over the world and preach the good news to all the creation. 16 He who believes it and is baptized will be saved, but he who does not believe it will be condemned. 17 And the following signs will attend those who believe: By using my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in foreign languages; 18 they will take snakes in their hands; even if they drink anything poisonous, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will get well."

19 So the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was caught up into heaven and took His seat at God's right hand. 20 Then they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept on working with them and confirming their message by the signs that attended it.

Romans 16:9-20

9 Remember me to Urbanus, my fellow-worker in the work of Christ, and to my dear friend Stachys. 10 Remember me to Apelles, that most venerated Christian. Remember me to the members of Aristobulus' family. 11 Remember me to Herodion, my fellow-countryman. Remember me to the Christian members of Narcissus' family. 12 Remember me to Tryphaena and Tryphosa, who continued to toil in the work of the Lord. Remember me to my dear friend Persis, who toiled so hard in the work of the Lord. 13 Remember me to Rufus, that choicest Christian, and to his mother, who has been a mother to me too. 14 Remember me to Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers who are associated with them. 15 Remember me to Philologus and Julia, to Nereus and his sister, and to Olympas, and all God's people who are associated with them. 16 Greet one another with a consecrated kiss. All the churches of Christ wish to be remembered to you.

17 But I beg you, brothers, to keep on the lookout for those who stir up divisions and put hindrances in your way, in opposition to the instruction that you had, and always avoid them. 18 For such men are really not serving our Lord Christ but their own base appetites, and by their fair and flattering talk they are deceiving the hearts of unsuspecting people.

19 Yes, your obedience has been told to everybody; so I am delighted about you, but I want you to be wise about what is good and innocent about what is bad. 20 Now the peace-giving God will soon crush Satan under your feet. The spiritual blessing of our Lord Jesus be with you.
