Matthew 26:26-30 - The Lord's Supper

²⁶ While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and handed it to the disciples, saying, "Take this and eat it. This is my body." ²⁷ Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you, ²⁸ because this is my blood of the new covenant that is being poured out for many people for the forgiveness of sins. ²⁹ I tell all of you I will never again drink the product of the vine until that day when I drink it with you once again in my Father's kingdom." ³⁰ After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

²³ Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and gave it to them, and they all drank from it. ²⁴ He told them, "This is my blood of the covenant that is being poured out for many people. ²⁵ I tell all of you with certainty, I'll never again drink the product of the vine until that day when I drink it new in the kingdom of God." ²⁶ After singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.

¹⁴ Now when the hour came, Jesus took his place at the table, along with his apostles. ¹⁵ He told them, "I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover meal with you before I suffer, ¹⁶ because I tell all of you, I will never eat it again until it finds its fulfillment in the kingdom of God." ¹⁷ Then he took a cup, gave thanks, and said, "Take this and share it among yourselves, ¹⁸ because I tell you, from now on I will never drink the product of the vine until the kingdom of God comes."

¹⁹ Then he took a loaf of bread, gave thanks, broke it in pieces, and handed it to them, saying, "This is my body, which is given for you. Keep on doing this in memory of me."

²⁰ He did the same with the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant sealed by my blood, which is being poured out for you. ²¹ Yet look! The hand of the man who is betraying me is with me on the table! ²² The Son of Man is going away, just as it has been determined, but how terrible it will be for that man by whom he is betrayed!"

²³ Then they began to discuss among themselves which one of them was going to do this.
