Acts 7:9-16 - The Patriarchs In Egypt

⁹ And the patriarchs envying Joseph sold him into Egypt; and God was with him ¹⁰ and delivered him from all his afflictions, and gave him favor and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and [he] made him governor over Egypt and all his house. ¹¹ And there came a famine on all the land of Egypt and Canaan, and great affliction, and our fathers found no provisions. ¹² But Jacob hearing that there was grain in Egypt, sent our fathers the first time; ¹³ and the second time Joseph was made known to his brothers, and Joseph's family was made known to Pharaoh. ¹⁴ And Joseph sent and called for his father Jacob, and all the family of seventy-five souls. ¹⁵ And Jacob went down to Egypt, and died, he and our fathers; ¹⁶ and they carried him back to Shechem and buried him in the tomb which Abraham bought for money of the sons of Hamor the father of Shechem.
