2 Peter 1:16-21 - The Reliable Prophetic Word Of Testimony

¹⁶ For, not as having followed after cunningly-devised stories, did we make known to you the power and presence of our Lord Jesus Christ, but as having been made spectators of His majesty. ¹⁷ For He received from God the Father honor and glory, when such a voice was borne to Him from the Excellent Glory, "This is My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I took delight";

¹⁸ and this voice we heard borne from Heaven, when we were with Him in the holy mount. ¹⁹ And we have the more sure prophetic word, to which ye do well to take heed, as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the Morning Star arise in your hearts; ²⁰ knowing this, first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of one's own interpretation; ²¹ for prophecy was never brought by the will of man, but men spake from God, being moved by the Holy Spirit.
