Matthew 16:1-4 - The Signs Of The Times

¹ Here the Pharisees and Sadducees came to Him; and, to make trial of Him, they asked Him to show them a sign in the sky.

² He replied, "In the evening you say, 'It will be fine weather, for the sky is red;' ³ and in the morning, 'It will be rough weather to-day, for the sky is red and murky.' You learn how to distinguish the aspect of the heavens, but the signs of the times you cannot. ⁴ A wicked and faithless generation are eager for a sign; but none shall be given to them except the sign of Jonah." and He left them and went away.

⁵⁴ Then He said to the people also, "When you see a cloud rising in the west, you immediately say, 'There is to be a shower;' and it comes to pass. ⁵⁵ And when you see a south wind blowing, you say, 'It will be burning hot;' and it comes to pass. ⁵⁶ Vain pretenders! You know how to read the aspect of earth and sky. How is it you cannot read this present time?
