1 Thessalonians 2:13-16 - The Thessalonians' Response To Paul's Message
13 And, for this reason, we also give thanks to God without ceasing, that, having received the word of God which ye heard from us, ye received it, not as the word of men, but, as it truly is, the word of God, which also is working in you who believe. 14 For ye, brethren, became imitators of the assemblies of God, that are in Judaea in Christ Jesus; because ye suffered the same things from your own countrymen, as they also did from the Jews; 15 who both killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and drove us out, and pleased not God, and are contrary to all men; 16 forbidding us to speak to the gentiles, that they might be saved, for the filling up of their sins always; and the wrath came upon them to the uttermost.
