Ar'pad, or Ar'phad
(strong city),
a city or district in Syria, apparently dependent on Damascus.
No trace of its existence has yet been discovered.
Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah? Indeed, did any gods rescue Samaria from my power?

The Lord spoke about Damascus. "The people of Hamath and Arpad will be dismayed because they have heard bad news. Their courage will melt away because of worry. Their hearts will not be able to rest.
