Then the chief priests and the elders of the people met together in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas.

Now the ones who had arrested Jesus led him to Caiaphas, the high priest, in whose house the experts in the law and the elders had gathered.

Then one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said, "You know nothing at all!

They brought him first to Annas, for he was the father-in-law of Caiaphas, who was high priest that year. (Now it was Caiaphas who had advised the Jewish leaders that it was to their advantage that one man die for the people.)

Then Annas sent him, still tied up, to Caiaphas the high priest.

Then they brought Jesus from Caiaphas to the Roman governor's residence. (Now it was very early morning.) They did not go into the governor's residence so they would not be ceremonially defiled, but could eat the Passover meal.

Annas the high priest was there, and Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and others who were members of the high priest's family.
