In our sense, "vehicles". Only in 7/20/type/emb'>1Sa 17:20; 26:5,7, margin "place of carriages," i.e. "the trench," alluding to the circle of wagons round the encampment. Elsewhere the things carried, baggage (1Sa 17:22; Isa 10:28; Jg 18:21), literally, heavy things, i.e. the precious goods which the Danites had just seized on. Isa 46:1; "your carriages were heavy laden," rather "(the images) which used to be carried by you (in solemn procession) are become heavy burdens"; instead of carrying you as Jehovah does His people (Isa 46:3-4), they have to be carried as heavy burdens by you. Ac 21:15; "we took up our carriages," i.e. "our baggage".
