The Gr. word so rendered in NT properly denotes 'a store-chamber' as Lu 12:24 RV, then any inner or more private room as opposed to the living-room; so Mt 6:6; Lu 12:3 RV 'inner-chamber.' Cf. 1Ki 20:30; 22:25, lit. 'a chamber within a chamber,' and House,
