(6) a name for the Messiah in common use among the Jews, probably suggested by Isa 12:1; 49:13. The Greek word thus rendered (Lu 2:25, paraklesis) is kindred to that translated "Comforter" in Joh 14:16, etc., parakletos.
On that day you will say: "I will praise You, Lord, although You were angry with me. Your anger has turned away, and You have had compassion on me.
Shout for joy, you heavens! Earth, rejoice! Mountains break into joyful shouts! For the Lord has comforted His people, and will have compassion on His afflicted ones.
There was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon. This man was righteous and devout, looking forward to Israel's consolation, and the Holy Spirit was on him.
And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.
