Shackles for the feet. It is said of Joseph that his feet were hurt with fetters. Ps 105:18. They are spoken of as being made of brass and of iron. Jg 16:21; 2Sa 3:34; 2Ki 25:7; Job 36:8; Ps 149:8; Mr 5:4; Lu 8:29.
He had often been bound with ropes and chains but had broken the chains off and torn the ropes to pieces. And no one had enough strength to subdue him.
