Isa 7:4; Am 4:11; Zec 3:2, denotes the burnt end of a stick (Heb 'ud); in JG 15:4, a lamp or torch, a flambeau (Heb lappid); in Pr 26:18 (comp. Eph 6:16), burning darts or arrows (Heb zikkim).
Like a madman who throws Firebrands, arrows and death,
and say to him, 'Take care and be calm, have no fear and do not be fainthearted because of these two stubs of smoldering firebrands, on account of the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and the son of Remaliah.
"I overthrew you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, And you were like a firebrand snatched from a blaze; Yet you have not returned to Me," declares the LORD.
The LORD said to Satan, "The LORD rebuke you, Satan! Indeed, the LORD who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?"
in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
