Geshu'ri Geshurites. Geshu'rites
1. Inhabitants of Geshur. De 3:14; Jos 12:5; 13/11/type/nsb'>13:11,13.
Jair, from the tribe of Manasseh, took the entire region of Argob, that is, Bashan, as far as the border of Geshur and Maacah. He named the villages after himself, and they are still known as the villages of Jair.
And reigned in Mount Hermon, and in Salcah, and in all Bashan, to the border of the Geshurites and the Maachathites, and half Gilead, the border of Sihon king of Heshbon.
This is the land that yet remains: All the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,
And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan to Salcah;
Nevertheless the children of Israel did not expel the Geshurites, or the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.
