The Lord Jesus was emphatically 'the prophet of God,' whose coming was foretold in De 18:15,18. When on earth He said that the works which He did, and the words that He spoke, were not from Himself, but were what He had seen and heard of His Father. Joh 14:10,24. He was the perfect exponent of God's mind to the Jews (Ac 3:22; 7:37), and the proclaimer of God's grace to a guilty world. Lu 14:15-24; 2Co 5:19.

"The LORD your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your brothers--it is to him you shall listen--
I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.
When one of those who reclined at table with him heard these things, he said to him, "Blessed is everyone who will eat bread in the kingdom of God!" Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.
Whoever does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that you hear is not mine but the Father's who sent me.
Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you.
This is the Moses who said to the Israelites, 'God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers.'
