Teko'ite
Designation of Ikkesh, father of Ira, one of David's mighty men. 2Sa 23:1, 26; 1Ch 11:28; 27:9. The Tekoites were inhabitants of Tekoa: they helped to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, but "their nobles put not their necks to the work of their Lord." Ne 3:5,27.
Now these are the last words of David. David the son of Jesse declares, The man who was raised on high declares, The anointed of the God of Jacob, And the sweet psalmist of Israel,
Moreover, next to him the Tekoites made repairs, but their nobles did not support the work of their masters.
After them the Tekoites repaired another section in front of the great projecting tower and as far as the wall of Ophel.
