And they having come into Capernaum, those receiving the double drachma came to Peter, and said, Does your teacher pay the double drachma? He says, Yes. And when he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, What seems to you, Simon? from whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? from their own sons or aliens?

Then tell us, what seems good to thee? is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

Show me the tribute money: and they brought Him a denarion.

After him Judas the Galilean arose, in the days of the enrollment, and led the people after him; he also perished, and all, so many as confided in him, were scattered abroad.

Give to all their dues: custom to whom custom is due; tribute to whom tribute is due; fear to whom fear is due; honor to whom honor is due.
