In the year of King Uzziah's death, I saw the sovereign master seated on a high, elevated throne. The hem of his robe filled the temple. Seraphs stood over him; each one had six wings. With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and they used the remaining two to fly. They called out to one another, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord who commands armies! His majestic splendor fills the entire earth!"
How many living things you have made, O Lord! You have exhibited great skill in making all of them; the earth is full of the living things you have made.
The Lord promotes equity and justice; the Lord's faithfulness extends throughout the earth.
The Lord God, the God of Israel, deserves praise! He alone accomplishes amazing things! His glorious name deserves praise forevermore! May his majestic splendor fill the whole earth! We agree! We agree!
For recognition of the Lord's sovereign majesty will fill the earth just as the waters fill up the sea.

God appeared to Jacob again after he returned from Paddan Aram and blessed him. God said to him, "Your name is Jacob, but your name will no longer be called Jacob; Israel will be your name." Then Jacob woke up and thought, "Surely the Lord is in this place, but I did not realize it!" He was afraid and said, "What an awesome place this is! This is nothing else than the house of God! This is the gate of heaven!" Early in the morning Jacob took the stone he had placed near his head and set it up as a sacred stone. Then he poured oil on top of it. He called that place Bethel, although the former name of the town was Luz. Then Jacob made a vow, saying, "If God is with me and protects me on this journey I am taking and gives me food to eat and clothing to wear, and I return safely to my father's home, then the Lord will become my God. Then this stone that I have set up as a sacred stone will be the house of God, and I will surely give you back a tenth of everything you give me."
