Edomites » David makes conquest of
And the LORD stirred up an adversary unto Solomon, Hadad, the Edomite; he was of the king's seed in Edom. For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab, the captain of the host, had gone up to bury the slain, after he had smitten every male in Edom (for Joab dwelt there six months with all Israel until he had cut off every male in Edom),
which King David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these Gentiles, from Edom and from Moab and from the sons of Ammon and from the Philistines and from Amalek. Moreover, Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, smote Edom in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men. And he put a garrison in Edom, and all the Edomites became David's slaves. Thus the LORD saved David wherever he went.
