Edomites » David makes conquest of
And the LORD stirred up an adversary against Solomon, Hadad the Edomite: he was a descendant of the king in Edom. For it came to pass, when David was in Edom, and Joab the captain of the army had gone up to bury the slain, after he had killed every male in Edom; (For six months did Joab remain there with all Israel, until he had cut off every male in Edom:)
Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek. Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand. And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David wherever he went.
