1 Chronicles 26:1

The division of the porters among the Korahites: Meshelemiah the son of Kore of the children of Asaph.

1 Chronicles 26:2

And the sons of Meshelemiah were these: Zachariah the eldest, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

1 Chronicles 26:3

Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, Elihoenai the seventh.

1 Chronicles 26:4

And Obededom had sons: Shemaiah the eldest, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

1 Chronicles 26:5

Amiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh and Peullathai the eighth - for God had blessed him.

1 Chronicles 26:6

And unto Shemaiah his son were sons born that ruled in the house of their father, for they were men of might.

1 Chronicles 26:7

The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Raphael, Obed, and Elzabad and his brethren, men of activity, Elihu and Semachiah.

1 Chronicles 26:8

All these were of the children of Obededom, which, with their brethren and their children, active men of strength to do service, were forty two of Obededom.

1 Chronicles 26:9

And Meshelemiah had sons and brethren, active men, eighteen.

1 Chronicles 26:10

And Hosah of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief, yet he was not the eldest, but his father made him the chiefest.

1 Chronicles 26:11

Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third and Zachariah the fourth: so that all the sons and brethren of Hosah were thirteen.

1 Chronicles 26:12

Unto these was divided the office of the portership as unto heads over the men that waited with their brethren and ministered in the house of the LORD.

And they cast lots: the small as well as the great in the households of their fathers, from gate to gate.

1 Chronicles 26:14

And the East lot fell to Shelemiah. And for Zachariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots, and his lot came out toward the North.

1 Chronicles 26:15

And Obededom's lot fell to the South. And to his sons fell the counsel houses.

1 Chronicles 26:16

And to Shuppim and Hosah fell the west with the gate Shallecheth, where the way ascendeth upward, the one way being fast by the other.

1 Chronicles 26:17

In the East kept six Levites: in the North four a day, and in the South four a day, and in every counsel house, two,

and in the watchhouses, on the way westward, four: two in a house.

These are the divisions of the porters among the sons of Kore and the sons of Merari.

1 Chronicles 26:20

And of the Levites, Ahijah had the oversight of the treasure of the house of God, and of the treasure of the dedicated things.

1 Chronicles 26:21

As concerning the sons of Ladan which were Gershonites: Ladan had ancient fathers. Ladan the Gershonite had Jehieli.

1 Chronicles 26:22

The sons of Jehieli: Zetham and Joel his brother, which were over the treasures of the house of the LORD.

1 Chronicles 26:23

Among the Amramites, Izrahites, Hebronites, and Uzzielites,

1 Chronicles 26:24

was Shebuel the son of Gershon the son of Moses a ruler over the treasure.

1 Chronicles 26:25

And of his brethren the sons of Eliezer, was Rehabiah, whose son was Jeshaiah, and his son was Joram, and his son Zichri, and his son was Shelomoth,

1 Chronicles 26:26

which Shelomoth and his brethren were over all the treasures of the dedicated gifts which David the king, and the ancient heads, of the captains over thousands and hundreds,

1 Chronicles 26:27

and the captains of the host had dedicated of the spoil won in battle, to maintain the house of the LORD:

1 Chronicles 26:28

and over all that Samuel the seer and Saul the son of Kish, and Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated. All that was dedicated, was under the hand of Shelomoth and of his brethren.

1 Chronicles 26:29

Among the Izrahites was Chenaniah, with his sons, for the work without over Israel, officers and judges.

1 Chronicles 26:30

And of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brethren, men of activity a thousand and seven hundred, were officers in Israel on this side Jordan westward, in all businesses of the LORD and service of the king.

1 Chronicles 26:31

And Jerijah was the chiefest among the kindreds and fathers of the Hebronites. And in the fortieth year of the kingdom of David they were sought for. And there were found of them men of activity at Jazer in Gilead.

And his brethren were in men of activity, two thousand and seven hundred ancient heads, which king David made rulers over the Reubenites, Gadites and the half tribe of Manasseh in all matters pertaining to God and businesses of the king.
