When they had brought in the Ark of God they set it in the tent that David had pitched for it. And they brought burnt sacrifice and peace offerings before God.

And David and all the house of Israel brought the ark of the LORD with shouting and trumpet blowing. The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the kindreds of Levi concerning their ancient fathers. The son of Gershom was Libni, and his son Jahath, and his son Zimmah, and his son Joah, and his son Iddo, and his son Zerah, and his son Jeatherai. The sons of Kohath: Amminadab and his son Korah, and his son Assir, and his son Elkanah, and his son Ebiasaph, and his son Assir, and his son Tahath; and Uriel was his son, and Uzziah his son, and Shaul was his son. The sons of Elkanah: Amasai, Ahimoth and Elkanah. The sons of Elkanah: Zophai whose son was Nahath, and his son Eliab and Jeroham his son, and Elkanah his son, and Samuel the son of him. And the sons of Samuel: the eldest Joel and then Abijah. The sons of Merari: Mahli, and his son Libni, and his son Shimei, and his son Uzzah, and his son Shimea, and his son Haggiah, and his son Asaiah. And they ministered before the dwelling place of the tabernacle of witness with singing, until Solomon had built the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem. And then they waited on their offices, according to the order of them. These are they that waited with their children of the sons of Kohath: Heman a singer, which was the son of Joel, the son of Samuel, the son of Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Eliel, the son of Toah, the son of Zuph, the son of Elkanah, the son of Mahath, the son of Amasai, the son of Elkanah, the son of Joel, the son of Azariah, the son of Zephaniah, the son of Tahath, the son of Assir, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, the son of Israel. And his brother Asaph stood on his righthand, which was the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea, the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Melchijah, the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah, the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei, the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi. And their brethren the sons of Merari stood on the left hand: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch, the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah, the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer, the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi. Their brethren the Levites were appointed unto all manner service of the tabernacle of the house of God.
