1 John 4:1

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone forth into the world.

1 John 4:2

In this ye know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ hath come in flesh is of God;

1 John 4:3

and every spirit that confesses not Jesus is not of God; and this is the spirit of the Anti-Christ, of which ye have heard that it is coming, and now it is in the world already.

1 John 4:4

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He Who is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John 4:5

They are of the world; for this cause they speak of the world, and the world hears them.

1 John 4:6

We are of God; he that knows God hears us; he that is not of God hears us not: from this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

1 John 4:7

Beloved, let us love one another; because love is of God, and every one that loves has been begotten of God, and knows God.

1 John 4:8

He that loves not never knew God; because God is love.

1 John 4:9

In this was manifested the love of God in us, that God hath sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we may live through Him.

1 John 4:10

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son, to be a propitiation for our sins.

1 John 4:11

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

1 John 4:12

No one has ever beheld God. If we love one another, God abideth in us, and His love has been perfected in us.

1 John 4:13

In this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He hath given us of His Spirit.

1 John 4:14

And we have beheld, and testify, that the Father hath sent the Son, as Savior of the world.

1 John 4:15

Whosoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abideth in Him, and he in God.

1 John 4:16

And we have known and believed the love which God hath in us. God is love, and he that abides in love abides in God, and God abideth in him.

1 John 4:17

In this has love been made perfect with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, even so are we in this world.

1 John 4:18

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and he who fears is not made perfect in love.

1 John 4:19

We love, because He first loved us.

1 John 4:20

If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he that loves not his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God Whom he has not seen.

1 John 4:21

And this commandment we have from Him, that he who loves God loves his brother also.
