Again he sent other servants, saying, Tell those who have been invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and the fatlings are killed, and all things are ready; come unto the marriage-feast. But they gave themselves no concern about it, and went their several ways, one to his own farm, and another to his traffick:

And he said unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many: and sent his servants at supper-time to say to the invited, Come; for all things are now ready. And they all began with one voice to frame excuses. The first said to him, I have bought a field, and I must of necessity go and survey it: I pray thee hold me excused. read more.
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and am going to make a trial of them: I pray thee accept my excuse. And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.
