But to whom shall I resemble this generation? it is like little boys sitting in the places of concourse, and calling to their companions, and saying, We have piped to you, and ye have not danced; we have sung mournful ditties to you, and ye have not beat your breasts.
And the Lord said, To what then shall I compare the men of this generation? and to what are they like? They are like to children sitting in the markets, and calling to each other, and saying, We have played the flute to you, and ye have not danced; we have raised the cry of mourning, and ye have not wept.
