"But whereunto shall I liken this generation? It is like unto children, which sit in the market, and call unto their fellows, and say, We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced; We have mourned unto you, and ye have not sorrowed.
for lo, I will raise up a shepherd in the land, which shall not seek after the things that be lost, nor care for such as go astray: he shall not heal the wounded, he shall not nourish the thing that is whole: but he shall eat the flesh of such as be fat, and tear their claws in pieces. O idle shepherd, that leaveth the flock! The sword shall come upon his arm and upon his right eye. His arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye shall be sore blinded."
And the Lord said, "Whereunto shall I liken the men of this generation: and what thing are they like? They are like unto children sitting in the market place, and crying one to another, and saying, 'We have piped unto you, and ye have not danced: We have mourned to you, and ye have not wept.'
