For it was not mere stories of fancy that we followed when we told you of the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but we had been eyewitnesses of His majesty. For when He received such honor and glory from God the Father, when from the majestic glory there was borne to Him a voice like this, "This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom I take delight," we heard this voice ourselves borne from heaven while we were with Him on that sacred mountain.

Six days after this, Jesus took Peter and James and his brother John, and led them up on a high mountain, by themselves. And in their presence His appearance was changed and His face shone like the sun, and His clothes turned as white as light. And Peter interrupted, and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here! If you consent, I will put up three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."

Then Peter interrupted and said to Jesus, "Teacher, it is good for us to be here. So let us put up three tents, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah." For he did not really know what to say, he was so frightened.
