Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John in order to be baptized by him. But John tried to prevent him, saying, "{I need} to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" And it happened that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized in the Jordan by John. And immediately [as he] was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens being split apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him.
