"How terrible it will be for those who rise at dawn in order to grab a stiff drink, for those who stay up late at night as wine inflames them! They have the lyre and harp, the tambourine and flute, as well as wine at their festivals, but they don't respect what the LORD is doing, nor do they consider his actions.

He won't examine mankind further, that they would go before God to judgment. He shatters valiant men without a need to investigate, and he raises others in their place. Thus he acknowledges their behavior, and overcomes them; when night time comes, they are crushed. read more.

Let us continue to hold firmly to the hope that we confess without wavering, for the one who made the promise is faithful. And let us continue to consider how to motivate one another to love and good deeds,

An evil man is trapped by transgression, but the righteous person sings and rejoices. The righteous person is concerned about the poor; but the wicked don't understand what they need to know.

Whenever you sit down to dine with a ruler, carefully think about what is before you. Put a knife to your own throat, if you have a big appetite. Don't crave his delicacies, because the meal is deceptive. read more.
Don't exhaust yourself acquiring wealth; be smart enough to stop. When you fix your gaze on it, it's gone, for it sprouts wings for itself and flies to the sky like an eagle. Don't consume food provided by a miserly person, and don't desire his delicacies, for as he thinks within himself, so he is. "Eat and drink!" he'll say to you, but his heart won't be with you. You'll vomit up what little you've eaten, and your compliments will have been wasted.
